# Identity Wallet Setup

> Download and configure the Nuggets mobile app as your digital identity wallet. Complete identity verification with government ID and biometric checks.

To use Nuggets, you must have the official mobile app installed. The app acts as your **digital identity wallet**, securely storing and managing your Verifiable Credentials (VCs).

These credentials are essential for authenticating your identity and interacting with our platform. Without the mobile app, you won’t be able to access or use any features of the product.

## Interaction is powered by QR codes.

To access services, you’ll be asked to scan QR codes that request proof of specific criteria—such as age, membership, or role. The app automatically responds with the required credential proofs, ensuring privacy and security.

**We do not store, access, or see your personal data. All credentials remain
securely encrypted on your device. Only the proofs you choose to share are
transmitted—and even then, only to complete the task at hand.**

This approach ensures:

* **Privacy and security**: Your credentials stay with you, encrypted on your device
* **Trust and compliance**: All interactions are verified using tamper-proof credentials
* **Seamless access**: Once set up, authentication is quick, secure, and reusable across services

The Nuggets Mobile Application is available on both [iOS](https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/nuggets-pay-id/id121613988) and [Android](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=life.nuggets.app\&pli=1) and acts
as your [Identity Wallet](/overview/identity-standards) for your verified personal information.

Upon account creation, a random private key is generated and stored on your device. All your content is
encrypted to this private key and is only accessible to your account.

## Getting Setup

    Depending on your government-issued ID and country of origin, you may be asked to complete an identity verification process.

    This process takes just a few minutes and includes a biometric and liveness check to confirm that your ID belongs to you.

    Once your identity is successfully verified, you'll receive a Verifiable Credential (VC) that's cryptographically signed by the issuer and securely linked to you through a process called holder binding.

## Supplimental Data Verification

Alongside photographic identity documents, the Nuggets app also has
verification flows for:

* Email address
* Phone numbers
* Crypto accounts
* Social media accounts
* Business ownership
